West Perth Public Library has an active Friends of the Library group.  The group works hard to enhance the image of the library in the community.  They participate in fundraising projects and always welcome new members.  For more information, please contact the library.

PCIN

The Perth County Information Network (PCIN) is a computerized library network that enables the residents of Perth County to have access to the resources of all of the participating libraries.

In 1997, the Chief Executive Officers of Perth County's libraries began discussing ways of sharing services in order to achieve economies of scale, especially in the area of book purchasing. Within two years these discussions had expanded and reached fruition, and the founding members of PCIN signed contracts to proceed with the implementation of a system that would create a "virtual" library network in Perth County, provide a common library automation system for all of the participating libraries and allow patrons of each of the libraries access to the Internet.

The founding members are:
Perth East Public Library (Milverton)
West Perth Public Library (Mitchell)
Stratford Public Library
The Stratford-Perth Archives joined the network on January 2002.

PLOW

Public Library on Wheels (PLOW) is a literacy initiative of PCIN Libraries that addresses the low literacy level in children throughout Perth County.  Specifically, it delivers preschool & toddler reading programs, age appropriate lending collections, and knowledgeable support staff to local communities currently under serviced by traditional library facilities.

Item Donation

The Library is happy to accept donations of gently used books, books on cd, compact discs and videos.  We are not able to use encyclopedias, stained or musty books, books that have been 'highlighted' or textbooks.

Where appropriate, items will be added to the collection.  Otherwise, donations are put on our sale cart or go to our book sale.

Construction Blog

In 2008 an addition was added to the 1910 Carnegie library which saw public space approximately doubled.
